Firefighters remain at the scene of a major fire on Lichfield Street in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, where crews are continuing to damp down remaining hotspots following the blaze.

The fire occurred on Lichfield Street, opposite the Emma Bridgewater factory and store, with fire and rescue teams maintaining a presence to ensure there is no risk of the fire reigniting.

Surveyors and structural inspectors are also on site carrying out assessments to determine the condition of the affected building.

A safety cordon remains in place around the area while emergency services and specialists continue their work. Members of the public are being urged to avoid the area and follow any diversions or advice issued by the authorities.

The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, and investigations are expected to begin once the site is declared safe. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
