Roads serving Heathrow Airport’s Terminals 2 and 3 have reopened after a burst water main caused flooding and significant disruption to access on Saturday. The incident forced the temporary closure of roads around the airport, with passengers advised to avoid travelling by car while emergency crews worked to isolate the leak and carry out repairs.

Heathrow said the affected roads have now reopened and airport operations are continuing normally. Passengers were advised to allow extra time for their journeys, with Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line and Piccadilly line services recommended as alternatives during the disruption. The incident came during the busy summer holiday period, when thousands of passengers are travelling through the airport.
