Residents have voiced their frustration after a heavy police presence on a Stoke-on-Trent street led to the arrest of a man this afternoon.
Two marked police cars were seen arriving on Century Street in Hanley with blue lights flashing, prompting concern among local people.
Witnesses reported officers arresting a man at the scene while placing items into an evidence bag as part of their investigation.
One resident told The Sentinel: "Police turned up on lights. They are now arresting a man and putting things in an evidence bag. As residents we are fed up with what has been going on."
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been confirmed by Staffordshire Police.
It is not the first time officers have been called to Century Street, with residents saying they are increasingly concerned about ongoing issues in the area.
Police are expected to provide further information as enquiries continue.
